Default Best Aftermarket Seats

I am looking to replace my original seats (light grey-non sport) with a more aggressive bolstered leather seat. Any suggestions or recommendations is appreciated. The seats must recline and fold forward.

I will be tracking the car and the seats need to have the shoulder harness pass throughs. I would also prefer the 5 point seat hole.

Pictures would also be great.

Thanks,

D

Take a look at Recaro's sport model and the new sportster model. You can see them at this site: www.on-trackperformance.com .

If you are going to track the car, I recommend against leather seats - too much sliding around in the seat. A cloth covered seat will hold you in place much better. JMTC.

Thank you for the recommendation...I have had cloth Recaro seats in my previous 968 they were black with the 5 point hole...I loved them and they were great for the track and street...I am not tracking this car nearly as much and prefer the leather for every day comfort and for resale.

Also if I get a light grey in cloth they tend to get dirty quickly.

Thanks for the link.

If your going for more of an OEM look, I much prefer to Cobra Misano or the Recaro Speed. Both are available in light grey leather, but the Cobra is lighter and different then the standard Recaro Speeds. The bolstering on the Cobra's is plenty adequate for any street driving, but no where close to being overbearing.

Retail is about $1400/each.

They look too much like the chairs at the salon where I get my semi-annual pedicure-do they give the massage too? I'd think if you need belt access you should get the Club Sport seats. I often think how great a color coded set would look in my car.

Here are the Misanos I have in my 951. They were a close to perfect fit in that car. I was even able to use slightly modified stock mounts. Very expensive but excellent seats...they better be for that price. I had bought the 2 seats plus universal mounts which totalled around $3200.00 but I since I ended up using the stock mounts I guess I could have saved $150 without the mounts.

Please be aware/check for certification and crash test results for any seats you install and plan to run on the track. Some aftermarket seats are less than desirable for track use IMHO.

Also pay attention to mounting hardware, rails/adapters and belt geometry.
In addition, there are risks/concerns using a 5/6/7 point harness without having a rollbar/rollcage.

As far as tracking is concerned...DE only.

I will have a harness bar only.

I just want a nice and tidy seat that has better bolstering and will accept harnesses to keep me better planted in them....thats all.

The Cobra seats look great...

If I recall correctly they were approx 2300.00 and were purchase thru FVD-US
http://www.fvd.us. The really ironic thing was that FVD is located in Florida and one of the Recaro factory/distribution centers is about 20 miles from my home. I'll pm you re:splitter when I get home from vacation

Leather Toplines: http://shop.fvd.de/?VID=117664&VCD=3...opline+Leather

ps I order the 356 Porsche steering wheel Crests from Sunset and mounted them myself
