AIR Front Splitter
I had purchased a front splitter for my S2 and never had it put on and I would now like to put it on my 968 from the looks of things the bat wings look the same on the S2 and the 968. My question is are they the same and can I put the AIR splitter on my 968 with out any problems. Thanks Charles BTW the S2 is going to end tonight on ebay should be interesting to see what happens up to 6650.00 I was hoping for more maybe at the last minute it will go up. There are alot of watchers close to 90 probably all you S2 guys and gals just getting a feel for what theirs is worth.

nope - not if it's the same one that i just got, which was for a 944 turbo, and incorporated the lower apron into it - SERIOUS modification required - the 944 is approximately 2 inches wider than the 968 at the bottom of the fender arch - it can be done, but you need to be pretty good at fiberglassing, as it involves significant reshaping of the unit - it will take about 10 hours of work, not counting paint work

The batwings aren't teh same, so I have my doubts that the splitter is, either. It should be close tho, so its worth at least taking a look at.

as i said, i just went through this - AIR is very close to me - i actually went there myself - i bought one of the splitters - there are now at least 2 modified and fitting 968s, so it can be done, but it was not a simple process by any stretch of the imagination
it requires removing portions of the bottom piece, reforming the profile and curvature, bonding it back together, reinforcing it, removing other sections that interfere with the mounting surfaces, filling in a groove, and adding brackets that need to be bonded in so it can attach - it also requires different hardware to mount it
figure for a good 10 hours of fiberglass work time to get it to fit and look right - lots of layups and sanding
i'm glad i have it, but it is no simple process

I'd be interested in the splitter as well. I've been holding off on getting one for my 951 but am ready to bite the bullet. PM me with a price.
