Default Does Anti-Seize Change Torque Reading?

When Anti-Seize is used on bolts (such as the water pump bolts), would it change the Torque Wrench Reading enough to be of concern?

I just bolted on a new water pump and I just want to make sure that the bolts (covered with antiseize) don't strip threads...or back out on their on some lonely night). It makes sense to put antiseize on some bolts...but it's slick stuff. It's hard to believe that it doesn't somehow reduce resistance...but perhaps it's negligible?

You do reduce the torque setting by a percentage because of the lubrication. However, I don't remember what that number is, probably somewhere about 15% to 20%.

If this is right, that pretty well answers the question....you reduced torque settings when using anti-seize. Only the second explanation is more scientific than I'm able to easily comprehend. I'm heading to the garage to play with my WP bolts right now. I just hope that the Hylomar never-fully-sets gasket sealer isn't messing me up. I think I may have put too much on and everytime I torque, a bit more oozes out...messing up my torque settings... That is, they look good at first but when i go back to check them, they're loose. Live and learn.
