Replacing Tailgate Seal
Hi Guys,
Some advice please from someone who has done it. Seems simple enough ......!
In an effort to cure a water leak that appears behind the rear side panelling on the LHS (and manifests itself with a wet floor carpet), I am going to change the tailgate seal on my 1992 coupe. Is fitting the seal a simple case of cleaning the lip and pushing the seal on, or will I need to use some form of glue/sealant on it?
As far as trying to fix the leak, I have changed the sunroof seal and checked that the roof drain-holes are open. The washers for the 4 retaining bolts (2 each side) for the reinforcement plates on the tailgate frame have been replaced too. Any other pointers for where I could look if changing the tailgate seal doesn't work?
