Prices for 968s dropping?

Personally I did not buy either of mine as investments, we like to drive them. These cars are still cheap for the smile they bring to your face if it is worth $500 in 10 years I will have gotten far more than my money's worth out of it..

Mine is now for sale on eBay.. Very nice cab. with a lot of preventative maintenace, upgrades and more... 40K young miles... I have about $25K into it.. and looking for less than $20K = major loss, bummer for me. Very accurate description on eBay....
as hard as it was for me to find it.... it seems harder to sell it...

Deano - that is a nice cab, unfortunately this is a tough time of year to sell a cab.
What is weird is I had a tougher time finding a nice 928 than a 968 (968 for my father in law), and there are far fewer 968's than 928's. Your price range sounds good. If it were the right time of year I think the 968 sells better when people see it....many potential buyers don't even know what a 968 is, but they know what a Porsche is. I suggest posting it on as many sights as possible. A $20k price range makes it very affordable to potential cabriolet buyers.
You probably already know all this.
If you have it in the spring, do a professional detail on it, bring it to the car shows and put a for sale sign on it. At your price range I bet there are a number of buyers available.

It's really just a matter of the "right" buyer finding the "right" car. If there's no pressure to sell, be patient. My '95 coupe was "for sale" for 7 months before I sold it (locally) and got my price. I know the buyer got a very good car and he will continue to take good care of it. He seemed so happy when I transferred the title to him it made me happy too! I can't wait to see him driving the car on the street (he will probably put it away for the winter to avoid the road salt here in New York).

It ran great on the trip back to Atlanta, everything worked well, except the wipe rblades need changing. Even the ***** on everything are like new, sort of stiff and clicky feeling, like new.
The PO did not drive it much, something like 13k miles in 9 years, mostly maintained it and kept it concours clean. A good car to find.
My father in law loves it, but I think he will drive it a good bit more.
Thanks to Rennlisters, this is the second special car in a month I found that were not advertised elsewhere (except maybe on PCA). A 88 928s4 for me and the 968 for my FIL.

I got 26 mpg, this was going between 75-90 and downshifting to 5th on a lot of mountain passes. I went 470 miles on 17.9 gallons. I think that left a few gallons in the tank. Pretty nice cruising range.
My only issue with the car is that it was too quiet for a Porsche. I think my FIL has ordered a new exhaust for it.
