I found one of the rear wheel sensors to be bad. FWIW the front and rear WS's are different. Something chewed-up the 1st 1/8 to 1/4 inch of the sensor.

Wait a sec- I thought the ABS was under the right front wheel....? At least in 951. My mechanic changed my bias valve to a 33/5 & that's where he did it. This may be a dif part, but, thought I'd throw this in- the left wheel is the driver side...

Robby:

There is a wheel speed sensor on each wheel. They measure the speed at each wheel and send that info to the abs computer which i think is under the dash on the right side. The abs computer then sends a signal to the servo hydraulic unit to pulsate the front left or front right or the rear brake circuit(s). This is a 3 channel system.

Ok, that's what I meant- I knew it was up under the right side b/c that's where my mech was working when he changed my bias valve- I didn't see it b/c I was 6ft up... I did know, however, that it was a 3-ch system- I think a lot of people are unaware of this- it was Porsche's idea to add more stabilty when braking deep into turns- not sure how well it really works, nor how much it adds over good 4-ch systems in straight line braking, but I'd estimate in both cases, it would be negligable... An excellent system, either way, for 1987...
