Just to clarify: the CarDomain photo shows TWO stainless plates: Harvey's (the broad plate with the cloisonné emblem) and a Porsche-supplied plate mounted above it covering a ribbed black plastic molding. That plate has been polished by some third party: the Porsche-supplied plates were brushed stainless steel, not polished.

Sean (ether_joe) has those narrow sill plates on his white 968. I think his are polished too. My sills are just the plain ribbed black plastic ones, as featured on any 944. Geez, my car only came with one stinkin' option, the rear wiper, and I just deleted it this afternoon (thanks, Chris).

Lewis -

I think Harvey Peck still sells his stainless sill products on e-bay under user name 'sales4pnparts'. I e-mailed the seller to confirm it was, in fact, Harvey...still awaiting reply.

Meanwhile, check out eBay item #8042687276. I think this is what you want no matter who the seller is.

Best,

Thanks.
I contacted Harvey via eBay, asking him if he can do a plain sill with 968 in a glass bead/matte finish (like PAG OEM sills with model designators) rather than black.

Lewis, glad you found what you were after. Nice idea on the glass bead.matte finish. That would look sharp. Bet others would be interested too.

For those also interested in stainless sills, Harvey's new e-mail is pnpparts@comcast.net (944nut is dead). No affiliation, just a satisfied cutomer.

Best,

Buzz

I received this reply from Harvey regarding the matte/glass bead finish.....

No, sorry Lewis... they only come as pictured. The script is a heat applied OEM exterior black out vinyl and doesn't come in any other color.
Harvey

Oh well, worth a try.....now I just have to figure out if I want the black '968' or plain.

Thanks for posting his reply. I got the black letters and added the small cloisonne badge...very happy with the look. I'll snap a photo and post it tomorrow

As promised, here's a photo of the black letters with raised badge. No sharp edges to snag pant legs. Stainless is industrial grade - no scratches after 2 years of daily driving

Thanks for the pic.
I think I'll do the black 968 as shown; should look nice on Polar Silver/Black interior.
