Default My '95 coupe for sale

Well, there it is in the Rennlist classified. I do have mixed emotions about selling a car I like, but I suppose that's how anyone who sells a Porsche feels.

Great car. Good luck with the sale, Rich. The red car really must be on it's way. Looking forward to seeing it soon!

Hi Clem,

It's moving along. Charley A-Arms and Racer's Edge billet wheel hub spindles are on (or being installed this week). May take the car down to the Sebring club race/D.E. (driver's ed for me) in February for some road testing. Have to decide in another week or so.

Congrat's Rich!

What are billet wheel hub spindles for? What do they do?

Hi Jay,

Apparently a few 951/968 racers have experienced hub failures over the last few years. Take a look at the Rennlist racing/d.e. forum. To address this "problem", a couple of performance tuners/parts suppliers like Racer's Edge, are marketing their own wheel hubs. From what I understand these are machined from solid billet aluminum, rather than cast aluminum (as the factory M030 wheel hubs are). The R.E. hubs are reasonably priced too (about $395). So I've ordered a pair for the 968 race car. Karl at Racer's Edge is very nice and helpful.

Ciao.

Hey Rich -
The hubs sound like a good upgrade, as well as the Charlie arms - which I am planning do to this winter as well.
I am very jealous of a winter event!
Next step for me is cage. Lots of decisions to make...

Take it easy,
Jim

Clem,

You already have the Ledas (& appropriate springs?), so your suspension is just about set, no?

The Charley A-arms are a very good (albeit expensive) upgrade. But, the Charley arms are very difficult to source - I may have found the last pair (until Charley makes some more) on the east coast. OG Racing has the Fabcar A arms (they're about $500 less than the Charley arms) and, if you can wait a little bit, Racer's Edge will be selling rectangular steel A-arms that look like the Charley arms, but are VERY strong welded steel rather than the billet aluminum a la Charley. These are expensive too ($1,595/pair - same price as the Charley arms).

I'm sending you a PM.

Ciao.

Richard
