Smile new 968 owner

Just brought home my 95 968 Cab.
The only problem is I won't get a chance to really drive it 'till spring.

Here are links to a few pics, one from the previous owner
http://forums.rennlist.com/upload/968_copy1.jpg

and the others after I unloaded it at home.

Congrats! No time like the present to take her for a ride. Tomorrow looks nice....maybe the last nice day before the salt hits the road.

Hope to see you out on the roads in the spring.

Thanks everyone.

Found it after searching for a year or so, couple of flights to look at cars which didn't work out. Was originally looking for blue (996TT is Lapis Blue) and had been considering the one out in CA (92 with 28K miles), but Polar Silver looked very nice in person.

This one ended up being in Maine, it was listed in the PCA Mart and Pano, didn't see it anywhere else. A 2 hour drive from home (trailered it home), 39K miles, very well maintained, seller was a gentleman.

VIN ends 0364 (3rd to the last?)
Options, according to PCNA Master Dealer and Customer Database:
V9 Black Top
LT Black Interior, Partial Leather
C02 Emissions
XD4 Rims Caps (4) with Porsche Crest
398 17" C7 wheel (look to be what I could call Cup 2's)
490 Sound package plus
718 Model designation (probably since date of manufacture was 7/18/94 with dealer delivery 9/29/94)

and the mystery option:
P07 Club Coupe Specification 249/P01.

The seller said the body side mouldings are OEM and it has LSD (haven't checked), so perhaps they were bundled in with P07. Haven't been able to find anyone who knows exactly what went under the P07 umbrella.

I'll put on a pair of front Euro lenses, and then send the rear bumperettes to my friend Eric at Bumperplugs.com to have them painted Polar Silver to match (he did the same for my 996TT and it looks fantastic)...with of course some front bumperplugs as well.

So now the garage queen (996TT) has a garage princess (968 Cab). Spring can't come quick enough. Until then, lots of searching the archives to learn about these cars.

Lewis, have Eric at Bumperplugs make you a door keyhole plug-then take a razor blade to it and whittle it so it fits the trunk lock-makes a world of difference on how the rear bumper looks with it in.

Eric's a good guy, he provided me with a Guards Red plug to fill in the hole in the roof of my Cup car (where the racing antenna used to be). As always, a dead on match. The bumperettes will be on their way tomorrow via UPS.

He also painted my rear bumperettes (along with a non smoker's kit to match the OEM painted center console, Lapis Blue), in fact the rear of the car with the painted bumperettes is on his webiste (first pic at top):
http://www.bumperplugs.com/links.html

BTW, in case you were wondering about the license plate, if you ever get to the factory in Zuffenhausen (I got down on my hands and knees and kissed the ground, like the Pope...made some of the employees laugh), you will see signs/boxes/markers all saying 'TOP'. I asked and was told that the 911 Turbo has always been referred to as 'TOP', so it seemed like a cool license plate, which was available, so why not.
