No longer Wanted: Horizon Blue 968 coupe
Anyone know of any for sale? I want to get a stablemate for my 968 cab. 951's or S2's also considered, altho they would be listed as either Glacier or Sapphire Metallic.

Scott,
Did you find an open spot in the driveway that you needed to fill? Seriously, good luck with the search. I know you are partial to the color and hope you can find what you want. I do not know if I have ever seen an add for a coupe in Horizon Blue. Is there any way to find out how many they made?

From what I understand, there were only about 15 of them made, and I have only seen one for sale ever, a long time ago.
It doesn't matter now, tho, and if one does come up for sale, please DON'T tell me, as I have since filled the spot. Pending a PPI thats being done on Tuesday (and I am pretty cnfident it will do just fine), an ocean metallic blue '87 951 will be the newest addition to the fleet.

Completely dead. I found the source of the wire fire I experienced, the main lighting wire harness got severed when the car was crunched in transport. Digging into it, I found burnt wiring on all four corners of the car and under the dash (ignition and headlight switch amongst other things), plus I measured the front rails and found them to be bent sideways, plus some additional damage. If I pull the engine, straighten and rewire everything, and then redo the car to my expectations, I will be spending WAY more on the car than it warrants. It took me a while to make the decision, as I *really* wanted to get that car back on the road, but it would have always been a suspect vehicle with a blemished title.
My new dilemna is that I had planned on having the Gen'l Lee live on, and transfer the fun parts and the name to the new car. Unfortunately, since its a "Union" blue car coming from Maryland, it just doesn't seem right to give it a Johnny Reb name... lol I am thinking of calling the new one the Gen Sherman, in light of the fact that a friend of mine in Atlanta was apparently interested in the car but I beat him to the punch (historical note... Gen Sherman was the Yankee General that burned Atlanta to the ground in the civil war) Thoughts? lol

The "Sherman" should be as well. It comes with factory LSD and ABS, sport suspension and sport seats as well as a Vitesse intake/chip system. Add in a few M030 components, the 3" exhaust and the 968 rear hatch and mirrors from the Gen'l Lee, and it should be quite trackable. This is all pending the PPI that is being done today, of course. The dixie horn and rebel flag sunroof insert may make an occasional appearance on the car as "spoils of war". lol
