AC Compressor
What range would be reasonable for replacing AC compressor and dryer, (94 968 cab) including the parts. AC wasn't cooling well and freon was added a couple of months ago. It cooled great after that, but suddenly started blowing warm air. No period of time when the cooling was getting worse. It just went from working to not working. I could still feel the compressor load when AC was turned on. The same shop that addded freon said the leak was coming out of the compressor and the leak was so fast a recharge wouldn't last a day. He is asking 1400 to fix it. That seems awfully high to me. Opinions?

I've just removed the A/C system from my '95, so if you're looking for a compressor let me know. I don't know what they want to charge you for a new one, but mine was working just fine. I would recommend that you get a new drier, though.
