Hey Richard - Sounds good. I'll be in touch.
I'll be driving down to VIR - this is my only car!
If you're going to the Bear Mtn run tomorrow morning, I'll catch up with you.
The Ledas have been fantastic so far. Fairly docile on the street (with the exception of very rough roads) and an enormous improvement on the track. I definitely lost touch with the car the first time out with them - I was just driving through (almost felt like skidding) turns that before I would push badly through.

Bruce,

I might be interested too. Do you know the specs I will require?

I'll also check with Rick Deman on monday regarding the specs. Are those Leda springs that Beverly is talking about. Can't we use any springs we like (i.e., hypercoil, eibach, etc.), or are the springs specifically matched to the shocks??

Richard I have spoken to Racers Edge a couple of times and they have made various reccomendations. But the plan for my Cab if I go with Leda would be to double the factory springs rates and fit their 24 setting adjustables.

Here's an update.

Car was loaded on carrier in Illinois yesterday morning. En route to NY. Should arrive tomorrow? (Springfield, Illlinois isn't that far away).

If it arrives before noon, we'll throw my wheels on the car, stick a dealer plate on it and take a quick "check-out" run up the Thruway.

The latest report:

Intercity Lines called this morning. Car carrier is traveling up from southern New Jersey tomorrow, should arrive in Nyack during the day (tomorrow).

Well, better late than never.

Hi everyone,

The car is HERE! Just got back from a short "test" drive. So far, so good. The car feels very solid, no funny sounds. Gas guage not reading accurately - filled the tank, but needle reads 3/4's. Exterior is quite clean, but the engine looked dirty, not greasy dirty, just looks like the PO sould have run a little soap and water over the engine bay when he washed the car.

I know that a cage is a PIA for a car that may be street driven on occasion, but given my September accident I don't know how I'll drive the 968 on a track with less than the protection afforded by a cage versus roll bar. So, I'm still considering a cage, realizing that if I go with the cage, I will not drive the car without a helmet, meaning that I will not drive the car on the street. Hmmmm.

Will report more after Rick Deman and I go over the car. He will give it a very thorough inspection. Prior to opening his Porsche shop, Rick owned a successful autoboby repair business, so he knows what he's looking at in terms of making sure that the car has, in fact, never been hit.

As for mods, I'd like to add the S4 (M030) brakes up front soon, and some other little pieces before my last D.E. of the year at VIR (11/5 - 11/7).

The vast majority of 968's don't show a full tank on the gauge, even if you fill it with an eyedropper to the top-this is normal, as it were, for these cars. Great to hear it's in your hands, I'm sure that a weight off your mind.
