Default Mystery hose clip

I'm re-hosing the car (silicone 😅 ) and as part of that effort am restoring the little plastic clips as well. This one's a mystery, though—check out the pics - a black clip with a standoff to.... another clip??
Anyone have a part number, or even clarity on correct positioning?
Seems like maybe a safety clip to keep clear of the alternator?

Cheers

If that part is NLA, could it be 3d printed?

dlearl476 — that's just the plain black 24mm standard plastic clip

...847A is the yellow 22mm, ...847 B is the black24mm, and 171 971 847 A - is the white - 18mm.

Nothing with the "stud" attachment that I can find...

Okay - grabbed the old hose, and removed this clip to see if there is a part number stamped but alas no. It's 18mm ID. Here's another pic...

That's interesting - I just checked mine to see what is there, and this clip isn't there. I checked around to see where it might fit, and couldn't find any holes in the fan shroud that would match up.

That clip fit the smaller hose and had a connection to a similar larger round clip that fit the large radiator hose. I believe it was designed to have the larger hose support the lower hose from getting to the belt.. They were sort of pinned together to pivot. Never seen on PET but have seen on most early cars. Cant say for sure it survived the 94/95 under hood cost cutting.

Guess that's another part that I need to source for my car!

Dang, I thought I found something on the Moss UK site, but it was 404’d.

ps: Is it just me or are search engines getting crappier and crappier. I used every search term I could think of and fully 50% of the results were for RV sewage hose supports!

I am amazed at what 3D printers can do, at least if the person working them knows their stuff.
I would think that getting that 3D printed in a heat resistant plastic would be a direction to look into if no other leads work out?!

Just a thought...

Wow DSMBlue thanks for the great pic... that's exactly it. Yeah I saw the MossUK piece in google but 404 on their site.

BUT I did find this

Bit of a racket—JetPress says go to their sister company Components-Direct for small orders and/or from individuals. Components-Direct only sells in the UK, and directs you back to JetPress. I left my info with them we'll see... but I don't see a clip for 1.5" (38mm) hose diameter... only smaller.

https://www.jetpress.com/component-a...in-cable-clips

Also I've been searching for in-place pics—not sure if this is an early- or late-car thing—found pics of a 1995 model with the clip in place. Ha - securing these hoses is no problem a fat zip-tie won't take care of but would be nice to find the original swivel clip.

I have no idea how big these are, but they look very similar to what you're asking about: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw...mp-64216904030

@Apex That's where it is on my ‘92. I didn’t think to take a pic when I saw it while checking my fluids the other day.

I checked the Au-Ve-Co site the other day and was surprised to see how limited the selection was online. They are an OEM to multiple manufactures but the website is mostly GM and BMW. If you have a distributor nearby, you might check with them. They had all sorts of Porsche stuff back in the 90’s when I was working on getting my 912 put back together.

eta: While I’m sitting here watching the Goodwood FoS I thought I’d take a stroll through the PET because in the deep recesses of my mind I a) remember a page with nothing but misc. body clips, hose clamps, wiring loom clips, etc and b) I’ve found sometimes parts are grouped in really weird ways.

I think my memories are from M-B, Triumph, or BMW fiches as the only thing close is the section of electrical plugs. Nothing I could find on any of the other pages relate to those two hoses and the swivel clip.

This is what my 1994 coupe looks like

If this is the right area, I only have the 3 way union. No fixing base. HTH?
