Default Glove box door and lock wuestion

94 can. Glove box lock popped out along with an odd shaped metal piece. How to fix this?

The hinges of the glovebox are problematic. Fortunately, replacements are available. I disconnected the light inside the glovebox. If that switch breaks(my underhood light switch broke and drained my battery)fails you could drain your battery.
As far as the lock/know is concerned, I have had no issues. Good Luck.

Here are some representative products: https://914rubber.com/aluminum-glove...he-944-and-968

Lots of other choices if you search for "Porsche 944 glove box arm".

Cheers

If the actual lock assembly itself came out, it is held in by a couple of tapping screws and speed nuts.

Default Glove box door

I took lock mechanism out along with glove box. Sourced a good lock assembly with key from eBay. Also took apart glove box door to replace hinges, only one there. Apparently I’ll need to epoxy in

It is possible to get replacement lock cylinder to match existing key if you replace/match the wafers in the cylinder, assuming that is a concern.

Sounds like you might have it figured out.
I looked for the guy who made mine, I think he’s gone somewhere. IIRC, the same guy made them that made my sill protectors and mesh grill and sold them on the 968 forum.
But looking I found this:

I don’t remember installing my aluminum ones being this complicated, but it was a long time ago.

I ground the old hinge stubs off and glued the new ones in the same slot.
