Default Best Road for Your 968

Happy New Year everyone!

What's the best road you've driven your 968 on?

I've got some back roads in southwestern Ohio that have been pretty good that the local sports car club scouts out.

Done the Dragon and CA1 but in other cars.

I bought my 968 just for the reason to find these roads. And Cali has tons of great drives.

The section of hwy 1 from Fort Bragg to Mendicino made me giggle!!!!

There is a road, not marked with a number from Cayucos to Cambria. You turn right in Cayucos and then the first 1/2 stretch has perfect new pavement, the second stretch has mounds where you can actually get airborn. I liked to so much I drove it twice in both directions.

Hwy 58 is pretty sweet to. Not to mention hwy 49 Placerville to Auburn.

If anybody has their favorites in Cali, please share...

PS However, Nothing can compare to Laguna Seca race track.

I had my 968 CS out on Furka Pass two years ago. Absolutely excellent road, and a must if you are ever in the area.

Provo Canyon is pretty nice, although it was better BITD when it was a 2 lane that pretty much followed the Provo river. A few miles away Kamas UT is the gateway to two of the best roads in the state: Hwy 150 to Evanston WY and Hwy 35 to Hanna, UT. And then there’s Highway 12 down in southern UT, which is pretty nice, too.

This part of the road from cascade springs is pretty fun, but overall the road is too tight for the 968. It’s more fun in the 550 replica.

Washington state - too many to mention, but favorites:
1. Cascade loop between Winthrop and Rockport
2. Chuckanut Drive between Fairhaven and Samish
3. Backroads off 202 and 203 between Fall City and Duvall

CS eats them up!

Not very likely, at least not with my 968...

Agreed on Laguna Seca.

There were a ton of fantastic back roads near Laguna Seca that I thoroughly enjoyed.

I'll see if I can dig up the routes.

I spent three months working in SF in 2000. Stayed in a houseboat in Sausalito. The area between 101 and the coast is lousy with great roads. All the way up to 116. (Probably past that, too. But that’s as far north as I ever ventured on my day rides while I was there)

Through the amazing creation of GoogleMaps, without getting the specific roads, the main one was Laurels Grade. Everything was an offshoot of it. Some great canyon roads back there.
