Upgraded Alpine Stereo to Sony DSX-GS80
I have been driving my 968 Cab more recently so I decided to upgrade the stereo. I wired the factory speakers to the front channels of this Sony DSX-GS80. This head unit is designed to be able to drive small subwoofers with the rear channel. I have a pair of underseat subwoofers on the way which should fill out the sound. Changing the head unit really woke up the factory speakers which now are providing clear audio even at high speed with the top down.
I also 3D printed inserts for two of the switch blanks to hold a microphone for handsfree calling and a USB port that I am playing music through. The microphone works perfectly when stopped or with the top up. I need to experiment more with noise cancelling for driving with the top open.

Sure, uploading STLs does not work on Rennlist so I posted them at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6193438

This Sony gives me clear, clean music up to 80 mph with the top open with the front two channels driving the factory four speakers and two tweeters at 60% volume.
I added a set of JBL Fuse Dual subwoofers on the rear channels today which really filled out the sound. Not earth shaking bass but really high quality full audio.
