Dash Install - can't find delay switch

I was finishing up a dash reinstall and things were going swimmingly, until I found an empty hole for the wiper delay dial (yellow circle in picture). For the life of me, I cannot find it behind the dash. I've removed the cowl and instrument cluster again and there are no loose dials/wires anywhere that I can see.

Does anyone have any, possible, improbably, even made up explaination of where the dial/wire has gone? Am I staring at it and just missing it?

If someone knows where that is connected to a harness that would at least help me trace it.

I doubt anyone has experienced this here - but if someone has and can point me to where it might be that would be very, very helpful.

Wow - that is helpful. It looks like it comes from the harness from the passenger side (?). However, I cannot see it anywhere. How the heck does this happen?

Ok - Got it - that picture saved my day/weekend/week/month....

It had been wrapped around under a harness and between it and the dash I installed, in such a way that it was invisible. Save for the yellow "I" thanks to your picture - once I caught it I could follow it and pry the hell out of it to get it out installed of removing the dash again.....

THANK YOU!

FWIW-Rose Passion has the dial if you need a new one.

Thanks - I found it and installed just fine. Of course the windshield surround, dash and tops of door cards look so good now that I *have* to do something about the seat covers (drivers is ripped in two places), convertible top, other interior trim - I just hope I stop before a full repaint.

Nice work! if you're looking for smaller jobs, you could always pull the analog clock and repaint the hands:burnout:

Looks great! Nice job

Thanks - I’m particularly pleased since I found a local shop to recover it for a few hundred vs. what JustDashes wanted to charge (plus shipping). I did end up spraying it with Satin Black SEM paint so all the colors matched. (And sprayed all black plastic dash parts while out as well. I ended up changing the (completely faded/sunburned/and ripped) gray dash to black since I like the contrast more - but with > 100K miles on the car I figured originally didn’t matter for this one.

Still amazed after a month - I reinstalled and every electronic seemed to work and there were no codes. Started up and ran just like before.

Where'd you find an Upholstery shop that'd recover the dash for that price?

That’s a pretty extensive rip out. Nice work. Something you will look at every time you drive!

Triangle Auto Interiors in Cary, NC - a local Paintless Dent Removal guy said they did good work - I had them replace a ripped leather panel in a Volvo I had and it was perfect so I figured I’d just drive the removed dash and see what they could do. While it is not “factory” (and they covered up the “Airbag” script). I’m okay with it. And I wanted to change the color anyway. It’s a small 2-3 car bay/outdoor type of place, stuff everywhere - but I could not be more pleased with supporting a local business.

Thanks @Yogii - for Seat Skins - any pointers to a good manufacturer ? I want to keep it as close to OEM as possible.
