Need a 968 Short or Long Block
Long shot but here it goes:
As the title suggests I need a replacement short block for my 1992 manual coupe LSD. There is sever pitting on cylinder #2 & #3, number 2 being the worst. 176K on my original engine and it’s a bummer because I’ve only owned her a few years.
Does anyone on this forum have an engine/block for sale or know somebody with one they’re trying to sell?
I would greatly appreciate any help. I reside in SoCal but would pay for shipping of course.
Thanks,
David

Thanks Jay. I do have a low mileage 29K complete 968 engine for sale. $ 5,000.00 for complete motor MAF to Pan. ECU and all clutch Bell housing available if needed at additional cost. Engine is currently in a 92 Cab. Some cars it is difficult to tell if you trust the mileage when you buy at auction or through a flipper. This car was bought from 2nd owner who has owned since around 10K miles, her daughter was in a wreck with the cab and it was garage kept after the damage. They attempted to retain all parts to repair body but husband passed and she sold the car in its current state. I believe mileage to be accurate on this car. I can strap to pallet and drop at freight terminal. I expect $400-700 freight charge depending if you have a commercial address/dock or if your willing to pickup at your nearest freight terminal. Feel free to PM. I can send you my email/cell info.

You could contact Millennium Technologies about repairing your block by boring and/or honing and replating with Nikasil type coating. Not sure you want to go this route with an engine build, but it could be less expensive than buying a complete engine.
Good to know!
I hope I never need them...
