Oil pressure reading - normal
Finding my way around my ‘93 CS. Only had the chance to put 20 miles on it before I had to put it in storage for the winter and head out of town.
wanted to ask about the normal reading on the oil pressure gauge. I noticed on my 20 mile drive that the gauge stayed just under 5. Didn’t really vary at all during the drive. Is this normal? Should it have dropped down?

Did it get fully up to operating temp in 20 miles? (About 1/3 up in the white bracket on mine). That's pretty good oil pressure.
I don’t know that I’ve payed close attention to it but it seems like the only time it drops down is between cold and warm at idle. Seems like it pretty much runs at 28 all the time, but then I drop really rev it very high when it’s cold.

When warm, mine is almost as high. At warm idle it drops a little. What grade oil are you using?
My understanding is that high oil pressure is required due to getting oil to the rear OHC's. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks. As I recall my 96 993 turbo also read high all the time....very similar to this. Just wanting to educate myself here since 968's are new to me. thx
