Default Tire pressure

I'm taking the car up north on a road trip and I was checking tire pressures and I was woefully low. Shame on me for not checking sooner. Anyways, the tire pressure sticker looks like it's worn off. What is the right tire pressure for the car? I have 18" Carrera rims on it now and I came across a thread stating 36 psi. Is that where I should be? Thanks!

Sean,

36 is what I set mine for. If auto-crossing maybe 32 psi.
This is with 17" Cup II wheels.

this is like one of those oil threads...everyone will have an opinion
However based on climate, road conditions and profile of tyres you are in the ballpark.
I would run 38psi in them as they get warm from running it wont wear the centre out of the tyre from over inflation nor will it wear the shoulders out from under inflation.
36psi would be fine however.

Workshop manual for both 16" and 17" wheels/tyres (summer and winter) as 2.5 bar or 36psi. These are cold temps. However, for track use it's a case of 'each to their own' as Peter suggests above. It then depends on tyre make/type/construction and what kind of track/event - flat-out circuits, tarmac rallying, hill climbs and so on..

Appreciate the input. I filled them up to 36 PSI cold so I should be good.

Just taking the car on a road trip. No crazy driving. Yet.

Why not? On my current Road Trip my 94 coupe gets better milage at 90-110 than it does at 70-80.
