further explaining the above, the zf (clutch type lsd) provides a little more constant drag than the torsen and also will not generally last as long - it does hook up better on the track, but provides for some complications on the street as it is somewhat less subtle in how it works - additionally, the wrong fluid in it will destroy it
the torsen diff is more transparent in driving feel and therefore a more streetable unit - there are a few out there beside the stock unit - i, for example, have the gt diff - i love it and got it from speed 6 - it is about half the price of the stock unit (stock is over 2 grand) and i am told it is lighter
side note: i recently saw someone selling a used stock unit for 750 bucks
