Default antilock and charge light just came on?

Hi all
Just driving my 968 and the antilock and charge light just came on. Meter just below 12v it seems. Was always around 14v before.
Any thoughts what to look for?
Thanks
David

Hmm, sounds like getting alternator tested would be a good starting point.

I'm presuming it's that! TBH my car is high mileage and probably needs a new one at some point in any case.
Just annoying as I intended a longish trip this weekend..

Thx
David

We'll, I may have found the problem 🤣
The belt went.
I'll replace this and the power steering belt. I hope I can do it easily.
The belt is ancient. I would have thought my garage who service it every year might have noticed and done this belt at some point.

Ah, much cheaper and faster to get those belts replaced than to put in a new alternator!

If you have high miles on the alternator (>130-150K) you may want to preemptively replace the brushes in the regulator on the back of the alternator. You can either buy brushes and install them, or buy a replacement regulator with the brushes already installed.
