968 Spare Tire Tie down bolt and washer
Hi everyone,
I recently purchased a 1996 968 Coupe in Guards Red with Cashmere interior. On furthar inspection of the car I noticed that the Spare Tire is missing the Tie in bolt and plate. Googling for them took me to ebay, but I can't figure out if I need a 75mm Bolt or a 55mm bolt or something different. Does anyone know the part number for either?

Got to keep that sucker tight. Had squeaks till I tightened it down. But is the spare really usable????

I probably have one of the bolt and plate from a parted out car. PET says its a 10x65
Send me an email if interested AND post a picture of that 1996 968 as I do not think they ever made one in 96. Ran from 92-95 probably a typo

Congrats on the new to you car. Now that John has you covered on the part you were asking about, I thought I would throw in the link to the parts catalog, for the next part you will need:

I'm with Yogi, is the spare even safe to use? I used mine once when my car was around 5 yrs old. When I needed to use it again a few yrs ago the tire shop convinced me to put the only tire they could get that day on my car instead of trying to use my spare. I'd rather have the spare in the car, but for sure I'd back way away when and if I ever had to inflate it and I'd drive very slow on it if it did inflate. I was unsuccessful when trying to find a source to replace the tire (or maybe I was just told it was over $1k dollars, I don't remember which).
