Default Finally found the electrical gremlin --> broken wire harness

I had some ongoing issues, with a blown ABS Fuse and the always light up parking light indicator in the left instrument cluster.
I studied the wiring diagram for hours and hours and in the end I came to the conclusion that the gremlin has to be the wiring harness, but where?
Most of the wiring harness is behind the dashboard, so I removed the steering wheel and the switch lever with the whole works.
It didn't take long to identify the culprit.
Does anyone know if this sort of cable installation is really stock mode?
The pics speak for themselves.
It took me some hours to get everything fixed, but now everything works flawlessly again.

that certainly appears to be factory wiring. Maybe sometime in the past it got pinched and led to the insulation breaking? did you fix by soldering and using heat shrink tubing?

Junipel heat proof cloth tape is my favorite. It's a close match to the factory wrap

Yes, I fixed it by soldering and using heat shrink tubing. Then I wrapped it in a cloth tape to get the factory look again. It was a real hassle, the wires are so short.
