Where Is Switch for Hood Light?
I bought a replacement bulb for the light under the hood, and when I installed it, I found out that the light does not go off when the hood is closed. Where is the switch that controls that light?
Thanks

I got the hood latch apart, and it turns out that the micro-switch is still working fine. It turns out that the little plastic mounting tab that secures the switch in the vertical direction was broken and the switch moved down enough to not turn off when the hood closed. The part number for this is 911.613.417.00, and I got it for about $6 (with shipping). If this is all it takes to solve my issue, it will go down as the cheapest repair ever for me on this car.

Good news!
I am finding that Pelican and SunCoast often do not have some of the small parts.
Anybody have experience with either of these:

They both have that little clamp,

That same part was broken on my 968 when I bought the car over 13 yr's ago, replaced it, installed the missing fuse, and still working fine. I do find that I occationally have to wiggle the switch to get the light to turn on, but never had a problem with it not turning off.

Thomas, $6 was too cheap of a price to mess around. It is the times when the bill is hundreds of dollars that my instincts to hold the line on originality are sorely tested.

I got everything back together, and it all works perfectly now. I was amazed at how difficult it was to get all the pieces lined up, and get the metal clip (#14 above) in place. I cannot imagine that Porsche could have have made this harder if they tried, it took me 20-25 minutes of fiddling before it all fell into place. Now that the griping is done, I can revel in the fact that I fixed it for $6. Thanks to all for advice on this one.
