Default 968 NEW ENGINE INSTALL - FRONT DRIVESHAFT COUPLER PROBLEM

Doing an engine swap; all new....EVERYTHING, to include engine mounts. Built everything outside of the car on an engine stand.

I have things bolted back down, attempting to slide the "front driveshaft coupler" forward into the clutch disc/pilot bearing...it is coming up approx 1/4" short and I can not put the retaining bolt in. I used alignment tool and everything was lined up perfectly. I "think" it is hitting the edge of the pilot bearing.

Fidanza Lightweight flywheel (see pics)

I've tried loosening the 4 torque tube to clutch housing bolts....no such luck; then removed them completely...still no such luck. ANY recommendations/ideas on what I can do in order to get this together?

Thanks in advance!

Loosen the pressure plate bolts and then try it. Works for me every time I do mine. Usually have to use a screwdriver on the coupler to pry it in too.

I've loosened the PP bolts, albeit not fully; I'll take them out more and then loosen the guide sleeve as well. Hopefully, that'll do the trick. I'll keep you guys posted.

Thanks Will.

717 - I didn't rebuild the engine; that was Dan944 (20 year friend whom I trust to do so)....so I didn't do a post. I will however, put together a post for my "project" - this complete rebuild of my track beast that I first built in 2012. Stand by for more...

Jerry,

Way to go! That looks great, sounds great too. I assume that is a straight pipe, 3", 3.5", or 4"?
EFI? Any dyno numbers?

Keep it out of the weeds,
