968 Speedo with a 944T trans problems.
1992 968 with a transaxle from a 944T. IIRC the 944 speedo works from the transaxle, the 968 does not. The car is new to me. I have cleaned any metal filing from the ABS wheels. I don't have a plan to solve this. Any insight?

You will need to get a signal for the speedo, there is no sender on the 968 trans, the 968 uses the ABS brain. Here is one option:

There might be a GPS based pulse generator you can use these days also:

I think you need 6000 pulses per mile? Ideally that'd be something you can calibrate.

Oh sorry I had it backwards, I thought you had a 944 with a 968 trans which needs the sender. The 968 needs a working ABS brain and the wheel inputs.

Three Wheelin'
Is your abs light on in dashboard?
Slam on your brakes while driving on a quiet back road to test the function of abs! If the brakes don’t lock up and abs is working than you most likely have a issue with your dashboards gauges. Specifically the speedo which could be failed or wire shorte d or broken on back plug. Just remember if you take your steering wheel off and unplug airbag to get to gauges leave battery unhooked until airbags plugged back in!
