Default What is this part?

Trying to find a part number for this. I believe it may be the oil temperature sender. The diagrams are not clear. Any help is appreciated to include a part number. Thanks

Correct, it is an oil temperature sender.

The part number is in the Porsche USA KATALOG manual for the 968.
PN is 964-624-110-00. It is #47 on the cylinder head Part Number list.
It has a black body and costs about $80-100.

Google "porsche 968 oil temperature sender"

That oil temperature sensor is wired to the DME and is used in the Vario-Cam operation and one other that I can't remember. If you are going to use the port for oil temperature, don't bother. Get an adapter from Lindsey racing and install it in the oil pan, much more accurate.

cool,
So, I can blank it off with a plug? This car hasn't been started in over 10 years.
Sat in a junk yard for 7. mostly all back together. I will just plug it if it wont affect starting.

Thanks
