Default I have lost my mind, what gage is this?

I was sorting through old pictures and came across a picture that threw me.

I know it is my car and interior circa 2007 but for the life of me I don't recall ever owning this gage and or installing it. I have never seen it in my boxes of stuff so I am trying to figure who makes the surround. The gage is clearly VDO. The brain is clearly loosing it.

It would appear it is Andial

More shocked I don't recall ever owning one. Although I am having a recollection of buying this from Elliot.

That would be a good gauge to own if you lived in the Northwest Territories and didn't need a/c Mine's in the center console. I made the mount from a Carrera bezel, eliminating the change slot. Got a angled ring from Summit Racing that would turn the gauge toward me.

I did the same thing as Metal Guru although trying to read the boost gauge clearly is probably not the best time to be looking DOWN.

Ideally the best place for the gauge would be the driver's A-pillar but no one makes a skinny mount/bezel for it.
Yeah, I worry that I'll drive into the back of a garbage truck or something while I'm looking at my gauge. I usually have my son or wife come along and read the gauge for me. Some day I'll rig my LM-1 to record it.

Actually the Andial gauge allowed one to still use that vent...it is perforated on the sides.

Yeah, but....that vent is somewhat compromised as it is due to it's location.
The A/C on the 964 series is a vast improvement over the old Carreras/SC's but still didn't rise to the level of any domestic car I've owned for useability and comfort. They essentially were handicapped by sticking with the old interior design.

About 40% of the earlier 930 ventilation system was carried over to the 964 turbo. There were some major upgrades but nothing compared to the full system change on a stock C2 which is a considerable improvement over the turbo. I agree my turbo A/C is fine so long as I am moving but once in traffic it has a lot to be desired. I got stuck at the Tappan Zee bridge last year in 100 degree weather and had no choice but to tun off the A/C and inch forward with the windows open. I am not sure if I was sweating more from the heat or my nerves due to all the people nearly clipping me as they changed lanes to get 2 feet ahead.

I am slowly regaining my memory about this gage. IIRC the lack of ventilation was one concern then I discovered the PLX gage which is in the tach and I went that direction.

Getting old sucks.
