Default Package car at Canepa

Anyone know this car? I'm curious what the asking price is.

They also have a nice regular 3.6.

I have no idea what they are asking but I am sure it is well above the average.

I find it interesting that both cars have the 6 disc CD changer and neither have the carpeting surround that came with the cars.

Do the rear speakers look stock in the package car? They look like they are raised up a lot higher than the speakers in my car. Maybe the package cars came with upgraded speakers?

My guess is they are ADS power plates. A great speaker from the 90's NLA and once modified no returning to stock. I had them in my IROC clone. This is also one of the two Canadian spec package cars.

That would make sense. I had ADS's in my second car back in mid 90's. I remember they were crazy expensive at the time. I have been talking to a friend about buying his 84 Carrera for years that also has ADS's from and rear.

On the "Regular" one ... Canepa's ad says it was kept by the second owner for 20 years until they acquired it ... the car also appear to have been on sale at RPM's recently ... dealers swapping unsold stock? http://www.rpmsportscars.com/door18.htm

RPM's car was Polar Silver over Marine Blue with 23,000 miles.

Canepa's is Zermatt Silver over Gray with 15,000 miles.

So unless they're swapping paint, interiors and odometers, not the same car.

Sorry, you're right ... I have messed up the VINs ... not the same car but definitely it was on sale at Canepa's already in May 2015 ... https://rennlist.com/forums/964-turb...-6-canepa.html

Does anyone have a price for either of these cars? IIRC RPM was asking $335k for his silver one.

The Canepa Package car is a strange thing.

It has the regular 3.6 spoiler, not the usual X93 package car spoiler.

It has "Turbo 3.6" badging on the rear deck lid, not the "Turbo S"

It has the usual 3.6 dual, oval exhaust tips, not the 4 tips usually found on the Turbo S / Package cars.

It has "Turbo 3.6" on the backs of the rear seats; Package cars usually have "Turbo S"

Price is high $700s, but I've heard different numbers from different people that have spoken to Bruce, who (supposedly) unabashedly told one person that he paid $550 for the car. Compared to recent transactions and auction estimates on other Turbo S', that's a strangely low price from a seller not known for being charitable with their asks.

I was contacted a while back by an owner of a turbo S that had a regular turbo tail and 3.6 Emblem. I have one of the few known possibly the only remaining turbo S tail in its original gel coat and he was interested in buying it. He was concerned that the tail would be a selling issue and was going to do more research on whether the car was delivered with this tail or the factory tail. I never heard back from him.

This is one of 2 turbo S package cars sold in Canada. It is possible that the car was delivered as is.

So that possibly answers the tail issue.

What about the other peculiarities, or can those also be attributed to it being a Canadian car? If so, sounds like the Canadian cars are "Package-lite"...

Cars and Coffee starts up again on April 9th. I am looking forward to seeing this car in person then. I have seen the silver 3.6 and it is beautiful.

I would assume yes although until we can see the second Canadian package car to compare it or the original window sticker option list who knows. Mark has 15 US package cars and 2 Canadian noted but only one of the Vin numbers shows as a Canadian car out of the 17. It may be a long time before we ever find out.

Saw these cars in person today at the first Canepa Cars and Coffee of the season. The package car showed very little evidence of being a turbo S. If not for the S ducts and front splitter I would just think it was a regular turbo 3.6.
