Default Rear Service Cover - Protect Paint - for Engine Bay work

These guys were talking about car covers over here...

https://rennlist.com/forums/911-turb...-79-930-a.html

and it occurred to me, I wanted to ask what others were using for engine bay work,.... to PROTECT your paint....

I was at TPC Racing on Saturday, and saw one of these Colgan Custom covers on a 911 GT3. It fit very nicely, had a nice soft backing, strapped well to the fender well, and had nice pockets for tools...

Michael Levitas (2006 Winner Rolex 24Hr Daytona) ... http://www.tpcracing.com/about-us.html

Quick Search - Here's what I found

http://www.automotion.com/colgan-rea...1965-1998.html

http://www.colgancustom.com/access.shtml

Looks like $140 would do it. Does anyone else use these?

Or have another suggestion, before my purchase is made?
Thanks,
=Steve

I had a factory rear service cover for my 993 that I found at a shop that was closing down. I wish they were still available to buy new from the factory.

I use industrial floor protection covering. It is a heavy mil blue plastic with mild cling adhesive so wherever you place it it stays until you are ready to remove it and dispose of it. A roll is not that much and will last a lifetime. Just use it once and discard.

Different manufacturer but essentially the same product.
