fob battery change & help plse re sticking door lock
Hi all. I started having issues on my 2003 964 turbo with the central locking key fob not always locking the car and/or passenger door (left-hand drive) not opening after locking. I suspected the battery might be getting old.
I changed the battery - like for like CR2032 - but problem persists. That is, sometimes, I press to lock and get a "beep" but neither door locks. Alternatively, and much more frequently, when the car is locked, I press the fob and only the drivers door unlocks while the doodah on the other door stays down. I searched the forum but didn't get anything specific. Two questions:
1. Other forums for later cars talk about having to resync the key with quite complicated sequences to follow. Would this be the case for our model?
2. Any other advice re e.g. - is it possible to free up the door lock assemblies in some way to make them turn more easily?
TIA

Unless I have read your post wrong, as far as I'm aware 964s didn't have fob remote locking so you must have an aftermarket remote set up.
You might need to pull the lining off the door and have a mosey at the set up.

Ooops - I just assumed that everyone had one. Must be after-market. I'll do as you suggest and see if I can ease the locking in the one door that is not working properly.
Thanks for the heads up.
