WHERE can I find a set of metal caps? I'd love to put them on. And I would not even mind the black letters (since I'm so late to the game).

When I do a quick look on eBay, there are TONS of caps being sold, and I really have no clue how to differentiate the various choices!! ugh. Need help!!

Steve,

The original gold lettered crested caps can be found on ebay from time to time. usually they fetch around $100 each $400 a set sometimes a lot less.

AFAIK the newer black lettered ones can still be purchased through Porsche for around $120-$200 although I believe these would work if you don't mind the black lettering.

Wow, that was a FAST response Anthony. THANKS!!

Also, since mine are RHWheels, I called them & they said they are the same OD size as the OEM (target '94 3.6 since mine are the RH3.6 18" replicas). so,......

I am guessing that the right OD cap size is 75mm?? And are these flat or concave?

Also, the eBay link you sent shows the metal ring backing to snap in place. That is the desirable backing design?

I also called Porsche Parts, and they have a hard time seeing any OD mm sizing. They do everything off the MY of the cars (for example, they said they thought the 996.361.303.09 would work,... which is obviously for "up to MY 1996, silver, flat face with colored crests). I would not go that route anyway, since they are $82 each.

Add'l Question: And it looks like the caps should have a ridge around the surface, just inside the outer edge (outside the crest), to have the OEM look?? (just as those seen in your eBay link Anthony)?

TIA!

These are some caps I picked up over the years figured they can be restored.

The ones on the left are the newer 993 version globed in black paint and the right are 964 version as supplied with speedlines and cup I's. The metal ring is correct fitment for cup I and II's.

Sorry for the crappy photo.

Anthony is right.
My car is late build #410 , I have black door latches , non ribbed door seals and black letters on logo.

When I replaced door seals I went with ribbed as I thought someone previous installed non-ribbed by mistake.

Just like everything else prices are on a steep climb for new parts. These used to be a lot cheaper 6 months ago.
