Question TrafficPro navigation system

I am curious if any of you have installed the new TrafficPro Navigation System part #000 044 900 78 in your 964T. If you have where do you mount the GPS antenna? The radio has a stock DIN chassis so fitting it is no problem, but the GPS antenna needs to be mounted. I have seen it installed in the 996, but they have a small plate in the center front of the dash that the antenna can fit under.
Any ideas would be welcome.

Cool 964Turbo and Traffic Pro

Well I had the Porsche Traffic Pro installed in my car along with a Phat noise with a 20 gig digital cartridge. Both work great and the Traffic Pro fits perfectly. It is a very user friendly navigation system and the audible prompts are great. If anyone is curious I will post pictures. The GPS antenna is on the front dash tucked in the corner.
The only challenge was to locate the speed wire and reversing wire and also to run speaker wires from the amp under the passenger seat to the radio. The older cars did not run the speaker wires independently to the radio but to the amp. The radio since it is set up for the 996 and Boxter have the wires running directly to it. The sound improvement over the circa 1991 factory radio is tremendous.

maverick, do you happen to remember the color/location for the speed wire and reversing wire?

Thanks Maverick. No rush as I have yet to buy the TP. Just doing research at this point. Do you have V1 or V2 maps?

hi,

tach signal should be taken at the A/C control unit, wire color is white/red. reverse signal is not necessary.

i placed the antenna underneath the back wall lining, on top of the back seat rest, under the rear window. clean, invisible and works properly.

Not too bad. I don't know about availability anymore but I think I paid around $200 for mine about two years ago. Do a search on "find of the year" over on the 993 board.

Well I couldnt tell by looking which wire went where. I have taken some pictures of the set up and will check with my mechanic to see if he remembers.
