The following nine 1994 Turbo S X88 VIN’s were purchased by and are in or were in the collection: 470165, 470289, 470304, 470305, 470320, 470358, 470367, 470373, 470440.
This comment above i copied and paste from another post 2/13. these were the 9 x88 cars sold to the Brunei collection. as i have mensioned my car is 470367 and im trying to learn more about it. This comment refers to them as Turbo S x88 cars. I was not aware these 9 cars were S versions. Can anyone verify or confirm if these 9 cars were S versions or not ? I have noticed the Chassis number starts with an S before the number ?

Standard turbo's built with the X88 engine were not 'Turbo S' cars. They were 3.6 Turbo's built with the Turbo S motor (M64/50S).
Ironically the Package car in the U.S. was a Turbo S and could be fully replicated as an X88 optioned car for the ROW and it still would not have been designated a Turbo S for those markets. The Package car is really a U.S. marketing program and there is nothing special or unique about it as compared to a similarly optioned X88 ROW car.

As mentioned by Flachbau, these are ROW "X88" optioned, see explanation above on package cars, Turbo S, etc. To check factory specs of the individual cars, you can consult the PET, if you have access to it

The "Turbo S" option, "36S" does not show up in PET. I ran the VIN from a package car just to check. It looks like it was only available for North American cars anyway, so any non flatnose cars from other countries are not "Turbo S" cars, though they could share the same engine, fender vents, spoilers, etc.

What you will find is that the cars which are Turbo S (X83,X84,X85 and Package) do NOT show the X88 option because that is part of option '36S' ... which is officially described as ... '1994 Turbo "S" model'.
X88 optioned cars do NOT have the 36S option because they are NOT Turbo S models.

It was fitted until arrival in the UK back in 2003. It was changed to the regular
Mph at that time and i still have the original. I believe most of the X88 optioned cars
Also had Ruf modifications from new. I dont know if any of the flatnose S cars also
Received Ruf EKS etc.
