The internet is THE greatest tool ever.

I used to run a bussiness engine building ,race prepping and restoring European cars ....BEFORE the internet( think about that) factory service manuals for Porsche, Ferarri and Lamboś where worth their wieght in gold and people would not share. I used to do everything on a land line.....

The anonymity of the internet has also infected many forums with trolls , internet experts, Hall monitor , guys wore their underwear to take a shower in highschool gym class types.

all in all I think the pro´s out weigh the con´s
