Exact position of the Turbo 3.6 rear badge.
Hello guys, there is no reference on the Porsche guide books to what the exact position the 'Turbo 3.6' badge stuck at the rear lid.
Thanks to B&W on here he says its 'the bottom of the script is 4" from the edge of the boot lid and about 12" from the sides'. Is this exact?
Please can anyone help.
Thanks
Norm

Can I have your old one? Maybe it will raise the value of my 3.3
Easy fix. Take the width of the lid and divide by two. That will net you the vertical center, mark it. Ask anyone with a OEM 3.3 or 3.6 badge, how far from the bottom of the lid to the bottom of the badge. Lastly measure the badge, divide by two and mark the center of the badge. Line it all up and stick it!
Sounds good on paper right!

This car at RPM has it more centered vertically.

The top part of the "b" letter should be exactly half way from the lower part of the lid and the beginning of the spoiler support, exactly in the middle longitudinal position of the lid (see pictures).

I just went out and measured mine and it seems to show what the picture shows. However it isn't half way. If you measure the yellow line down in Max's diagram it is quite a bit longer than the red one going up to the support.
The top of the b is further north than half way. I'm not sure how may parts the badge comes in but there are some very funky heights to the numbers and the decimal point and how the relate to the letters. Just my 2 cents.

The lid is not straight so in the picture the upper part seems to be shorter since it is rectified to 2D.

These cars were handmade. Is it possible there was one German autoworker whose job it was to stick the badge on who just eyeballed the position? I'm not sure if my badge is the original but the measurements are a little different than the ones I have read on this thread. It is not perfectly centred horizontally either (only off by an unnoticeable 5 mm.).

I would think that the German worker who's job it was to apply the badge created a template by 8:30am his 1st day on the job to make his job easier. Mine is 3 1/16 inch from the lower lip of lid. Since the lower edge is rounded that's about as exact as I could get. I'm sure if you asked more people the acceptable answer would be it's 3 inches from the bottom. I scoured the net last night and could only find a diagram for the 911SC placement.
