Pearlessence color option
Does anybody know the color code of so-called "pearlessence" silver-white metallic. This color option was available with 1994 model year Turbo only. It was very exclusive color option and turned heads half-mile away.
I'd like to paint my supercharged 993 with this color.

Jack,
I have in front of me the article from a '94 911 Turbo S flatnose. It talked about the special paint, but no mention of the special code. Only 2 of the flatnose Turbo S was ever painted in this color.
It was a "paint to sample" special "Pearl white Metallic effect". Back then, the extra cost was almost $14,000 more as compare to a just a special ordered color.
Sorry, can't help you much.
Sonny

All these special colours which are paint to sample related have the same code
L998 and L999. Sadly to get the exact colour you need to track down a specific auto in this case the actual Turbo 3.6 and then check the colour code sticker which is located above the battery.
I caution about using book references for such codes.
This colour scheme would have come out of Porsche Exclusive and I know they keep quite good records. You could contact them direct and see if they will help. I think the address is on the Porsche web site. The best way to contact them is by a nicely written fax.
