Price for a very good 964 turbo?
What years were these made? I am a bit confused with the whole 3.3 to 3.6 litre thing? What can I expect to pay for a Turbo with the 964 body style in very good condition?

Hi,
The C2 Turbos were made in '91, '92 and '94 in the USA.
The '91, and '92 model years are 3.3 liters with 17" five spoke Turbo wheels and rated 315HP and 320 lb/trq.
The '94 model year has 3.6 liters and rated at 355HP and alot more torque. This is the best and last of the C2 Turbos, very desirable.
They are all on CIS fuel system. You can expect to pay at least $38k and up for a nice one with average mileage. Lower mileage cars can cost a whole lote more. Make sure you get a PPI for any Porsche purchase.
If you want to read more information, you can visit my webiste for more. There are also links to great Turbo sites.
Good luck,

Yeah, Sonny is about right. You could expect to pay anywhere from mid-high 30s for an earlier C2 turbo 3.3 all the way up to about $125,000 for a low-mileage X88 '94 turbo S. flachbau.com has some good info on the 3.6s and the owner has a drop-dead gorgeous black X88.

I bought mine 2/15/02 for 43,500 U.S. It's a 1991 C2T, red/tan with 32k miles with lumbar seats, heated seats, limited slip, supple leather. It's perfect,at least to me. Beware of one of these cars selling for less than 40,000 there may be something big time wrong!!From what I hear you want to keep the miles under 50k to keep value high. GOOD LUCK

I think a very nice C2Turbo can be purchased for under $40K - how do I know? Mine is <a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1859613270&rd=1" target="_blank">for sale</a>!
I have put about 15K miles on it in 15 months so it has 65K total, but with engine upgrades (valve springs, guides, seals etc.) I would consider it better than a stock engine with 20K miles. To take a stock engine, as Sonny described, and get it to 380-400 rwhp would cost you at least another $10K.
Hate to see mine go, but I have other priorities right now.

P4B: that's funny...everytime I post a picture of my car your eye goes right to that M3 in the background. No one else even notices that car.
Unfortunately it is not mine to sell.

No...the car is not sold, not for that price. Ebay is great for getting exposure, but most bidders are not serious about buying these cars.
The tubing is a connection of the heat exchanger to a blower in the right rear fender (one of two blowers in the 964 Turbos). In addition to providing heat to the interior compartment, the blower is thermostatically controlled to provide cooling when the engine temperature reaches a certain point - then the heat is exhausted to the outside. Here's a picture of the fan and connecting tubing
