I would not advise this practice on a modern type auto. We used to do such silly things back in the late 70s and early 1980s but the use of AVGAS severely shortens the life of your engine. The additives included in modern aviation fuels will certainly not do you engine any good.

Hmmm, a hint of Karma with that comment.
In my Airforce Techie days it was common to fill cars with the Avgas pumped out of aircraft tanks...we called it the green river. The MP's used to check fuel bowls for the colour on some cars leaving the base. Obviously, it wasn't a free lunch, although I can't remember anyone complaining about their car. Then again, none of us drove Porsches.

Using AvGas by itself will cause a lean mixture. The density of AvGas is lower than Automotive Fuel. However if you tune your A/F ratio to run AvGas you'll be fine.
A mixture of AvGas and pump gas might be OK. Also, if you caf a cat converter, AvGas will kill it.
The amount of saving between AvGas nad Race Fuel is minimal, I'll stick to race fuel and not risk my engine.
Many years ago I used AvGas on a 951. Well the car ran great, but at the end of the event, the rings were gone due to heat (lean mixture).
