Post 94 turbo tire question

Can I put larger tires on the factory 18" wheels? I am currently running 265 35 ZR18 and
want to know what effects 285 30 18 will have and if is even possible to put that size tire on the factory speedlines. Also, suggestions for the fronts?

TIA

The 285's fit fine on the Speedlines. Plenty of clearance even on a lowered car. More contact area. www.flachbau.com

Dear C4S,
You have to be careful with the change and the matching of the rolling diameters. You have a C4S with traction control. This is based on wheel speed. You need to know if these new tyres are within the tolerance range. This data is in your owners manual. I do not have a C4S manual to check for you. Matching front and rear might be a problem. However you can get the rolling diameters from the Tirerack web site. It gives revolutions per mile. You need to check what your standard tyres are and then compare them to your new desired tyres and get a front set to match these speeds. Keep front and rear speeds as close as possible, well within 6%. 964 Turbo drivers on this forum do not have this problem. You may wish to check with the 993 Turbo forum or the 993 forum, I am sure somebody has done all this before. www.p-car.com is another place to look,
Ciao,
Adrian

A-
I appreciate your response. Perhaps I was not clear (please see the post topic), my "other" car is a C4s. The car I was inquiring about is a 94 3.6 Turbo. Thanks.

Mike- thanks for the info, I'll check out the site.
