LSD growling noise
A while ago there was a briief conversation about the "clanking" noise that my LSD makes when going round a corner on closed throttle. At the time some people (including Adrian) were asking whether it was the "growling" noise referred to in certain technical bulletins. At the time I hadn't heard anything like a growling, just the clanking.
Well I have started to hear the "growling" noise from the LSD - there's no mistaking it, it is exactly that - a loud growling noise when manoeuvering at low speeds.
Does anyone know what the TSB said? Is this something that needs sorting out, or is it just for people who want to get rid of the noise?

Dear Greg,
The TSB approves the replacement of the lingin material on the disks. You only carry this out when the LSD has to be repaired or if you have the money spare. I know quite a few 964 Turbo owners who report this noise and they learn to live with it. Just for info, this new material is also approved for use via TSB for the differential locks of the earlier C4 C4s and the 928s fitted with ABD.
Ciao,
