Post Fuel economy normal?

So far, I've gone through two tankfulls in the C2T. The first tank was 280km and 69L, the second tank was 279km and 71L. Granted, I'm doing 100% city driving and am probably being pretty fuel inefficient considering I'm still having fun accelerating around and not really driving very smoothly, but these numbers look pretty poor, even for a 3.3L six.

Do these numbers look right to you?

Conversion: Roughly 175mi for 17.75gal (~10mpg)

My numbers looks more like:
Hiway - 12 L/100km
City & fun! - 19 L/100km
Track approx. 30 L/100km

Yours looks a little high but can be achieved in my car with VERY aggressive driving.

At any fuel consumption - it is always worth it

On average, I got 13-16 miles per gallon.
Worst mileage was 11 miles per gallon.
Best mileage was 17 miles per gallon on long distance freeway drive.

I don't look at the gas mileage anymore. Although, it was painful at the gas pump when gas prices in CA was almost $2.00/gal for Super Unleaded a while back.

Farzaan, I have never been below 2 liters per 10 km. My avarage is about 2.5 liters per 10 km. My driving is 50% "city driving" and 50% "flat out". Your numbers seems ok to me.

Sonny, you should be smiling when you pay for the gas. Patrik and myself pay $70+ for a full tank of gas, $14 for the gas, the rest is for "Uncle Inga", which is one of the reasons why Swedes has kept the title "highest taxed people in the world" for the last decades or so.

When I bought my Porsche I put it on a trailer and towed it with my Volvo V70 through a snow storm for 300 miles. I remember laughing hard (Nasdaq was still up at this point) when paying the gas bill, my Volvo actually managed to consume 2.4 liters per 10 km during this drive. So, when thinking about it, I would actually save gas by towing the Porsche. So if the gas price is bothering us, we should be towing our cars around. Everybody will now that you have a Porsche and you will also get more attention than just driving it, an all win situation.

To much red wine, good night!

Oh my! I can afford to buy the car, but the gas money

Oh well, I've plugged the O2 sensor back in to see if it helps, more a curiousity thing than anything else. I'll report the results back shortly.

The only problem is that we have an auto-x this sunday so that will skew the numbers for sure.

To follow-up, plugged the O2 sensor back in, got 10km more for 71L so basically, it didn't make a difference. Looks like my 100% aggressive city driving is going to result in 24-25L/100km

Hope the gas prices don't go up anytime soon!!!
