What are the first signs that I need to look out for when one of my gears starts to wear?

Any input would be appreciated

Increase in transmission noise. Crunching when changing gears. Metal particles in the gearbox fluid. No different to any other manual really. If you are concerned about excessive gear wear, I would recommend an oil analysis of your gearbox oil. This should show up problems as against worries or simple selector problems.
