Dear Barry,
You can make anything fit. The main problem is the engine lid itself. The hinges between the various series are different and modifications are required. Some of the engine lids are also different sizes as well.
I am not sure what you are looking at but RUF make a Turbo S type tail which fits straight on. If you go to my web site and read my article on the RUF RCT Evo you will see a couple of photos of this tail.
Ciao,

Adrian,
Thanks for the reply, perhaps I can be more specific about the question. The top fiberglass piece on the tail of my 92 Turbo has had a hole drilled in it for a built-in radar detector (K-40?) antenna, and it has developed cracks around it. (You can see the antenna in this picture). I want to get rid of the built-in radar detector, since I doubt it is as capable as my Valentine 1, and get rid of the hole and the cracks. From time to time you can find used turbo tails, and what I need to know is whether I could buy one from an '87-'89 turbo (as well as from a '91-'92 turbo) and transplant just the fiberglass top part. I wouldn't need the hood or hinges to match exactly, just the fiberglass part.
Thanks,
Barry

Dear Barry!
Are you sure you can transplant just the fiberglass top part"? Is it not a ONE piece fiberglass part?
If it is a one piece fiberglass part maybe you could transfer/reuse some of the stuff from your old spoiler.
Is it not posible to just remove the radar detector and get the holes fixed and repaint it? You will most likely need any new or used spoiler painted anyway!

Dear Barry,
I have to agree here with Patrik. I think it would be far more cost effective to have your current spoiler repaired than try messing around. The spoiler is made up of many parts and some will fit (interchangeable) and others may not. The only other thing you can do is replace the entire unit with say a 993 Turbo tail. However the cost would not justify this in my opinion. I am sure you can get your current spoiler repaired professionally.
