Post Recommendation for Oil Cooler

I have a C2 Turbo w/ modifications (SC cams, K29 set at 1 bar, SS. headers & muffler, powerflo, etc. that I intend to take to the track on a regular basis.

Since engine longevity is probably related to how well the engine is cooled, I would like to hear some recommendations for type and location of oil coolers. Does anyone mount it upfront in the forward valance like 930s?

I am confused. Are you looking to replace your oil cooler or install one. Unless I am terribly mistaken there is already one up front. I have seen these replaced with dual placed across the front.

Yes - that was an ambiguous post - I am really asking what configuration and cooler style will give me the best cooling for a C2 turbo.

I do have a front oil cooler in the right fron wheel well, but I do not consider that a good location or optimium configuration for achieving maximum cooling.

What are the alternatives? Has anyone put one up in the front valance like the old RSR?

I have heard that two 930 oil coolers (racing versions) welded together and squeezed up there at the front works really well,

PS: There are some old issues of Excellence cover this. Maybe you should also contact the guy who ran the Turbocharged C4 and Turbo S at Pikes Peak in the 1990s. Jeff and I can never remember his last name.

You can fit the left front oil cooler no problem.

Oil cooler mount part # 993.207.415.80
Lft front oil cooler # 964.207.220.02
