Default Anyone using the hargett shifter in their turbo?

I have a 91 964 turbo. I currently have a ruf short throw handle in the car. That is all I got when I bought it was a handle. I was wondering if anyone was running something else. Should I have gotten more than just a handle to improve the shifting? I would really like something that is spring loaded from 2nd gear to 3rd gear so was wondering if a hargett unit would be a good idea if it would work in my car.

I installed the RS short shifter and 993 Rs coupling on my car last winter. Since my car is a '91, it took a tunnel bulkhead mod to install it properly (if your interested there's some good installation instructions over on the 964 board).
Doesn't feel all that short but the shifter is an inch longer than the stock shifter. I may cut my shifter down an inch later this year.

Guru, how does it feel overall? Easy to find gears and less play?

The new coupling has definitely tightened up the shifting as the old coupling design has been around for 40 years, is cheap and lacks durability. The short shift doesn't add or subtract from that, but then again I've driven my car for a grand total of 100 miles this year since the installation.

Yes but finally got it back last night. After a week of polishing/waxing/cleaning/detailing it should be ready.

Uber clean; I like that.
Finished the front clip yesterday in the 90+ degree heat. Has a ton of wet sanding to do to get out all the scratches. Today should go better, I hope.

I have the ruf short throw on my car already. I went ahead and pulled my shifting rod off, and sent it to FD motorsports to upgrade it to the "golden rod." I will see if that helps things out for now

Please report back with your opinions on the golden rod. Would like to get more feedback on it before I go ahead with it.

Here is an update. I installed the FD golden rod and SSK and it feels A LOT better. I haven't driven it yet but I have been shifting like a mad man and it is clean , crisp and complements the car well.
