Default uh oh, Turbo took a dump!

I knew she wasn't running that great during her last trip to Willow Springs GP Track, but a trip to the mechanic shows that my PowerHaus Hybrid KKK 11 turbo hot housing
(w/custom machined KKK compression section) is toast.

Job 1 is to figure out what did that turbo ingest.
What's a 13?

KKK11 spools faster, better for stoplight to stoplight, whereas the 13 is favored by road races, I believe.
I'd like to hear from anyone who really knows.

Nothing made it to the motor, thank God.
Did not find the object that did the damage, maybe somewhere in the turbo still.

I would think some of the brooken fins could make it to the outlet for sure. Just curious ,was there any metal dust between the turbo and the TB ?

Isn't there a coil spring that is inside the OE tubing? It looks like it fell down and made contact with the blades. The wear pattern is very uniform leading me to believe that something was laying against the blades. Here is a picture of mine. The spring fell down and wiped out a new K27HFS

You could do a search
Here, I've done part of your work for you: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/911-9...7-hyspool.html
Nomenclature: The K27 7200 is the stock turbo for our cars. The K27 7006 is the one "favored by road racers"; lots of power up top but very laggy.

anybody have any opinons as to whether the 13 would be a better choice, and who's got the best price on these things? thanks!
If you're up for trying something different (and what to avoid)....here's a good read;

update:
Took my car to Marty Mehterian in Northridge, CA and he did a wonderful job of (not only) fixing the car, but in communicating tons of information which allowed my to make choices during my car's stay.
Marty is also a Porsche crew mechanic when available, as well as the Chief Driving Instructor for Porsche Owner's Club...these things help make him great at seeing the whole picture, in my opinion.
On my request, He did a leakdown test, adjusted valves, installed a new K27 turbo, new plugs, flush brake lines, gearbox oil change, oil change, general tuning etc.
The little extras he impressed me with were things like catching the tiny cracked rubber plugs and hoses, painters taping all around the engine bay to prevent scratches, weighing the car, and many other things which lead to an emails or a call for clarification and more choices.

Highly recommended! His email is zoro930@aol.com

BTW, the car has never run better in the 12 years I've owned it...practically throws you into the back seat.

Did you pull your air injectors to see they are complete? That is what usually comes apart and falls into the fan.
