If so, approx how many miles/year do you put on it?

If you don't use your 964T as a daily, is there a mechanical/maintenance reason why or is it more a factor of preserving the car?

3k a year and I wish it were more!

I don't daily drive the turbo but it's more a factor of saving the car for the times when I can really enjoy it. My daily commute consists of a lot of stop and go driving and people who care less about their car than I do about a couple hundred dollar suit. It's all a game of probabilities in that type of driving environment - disposable late model BMW's are easier to replace and more comfortable than an early 90's Porsche!

i bought my 964T a year ago with 44k miles. i just started daily driving it a few months ago and might log as much as 20k miles this year. i felt bad driving it at first. after just a few weeks i started getting some bad door rattles and feared the commute was taking its toll on the car. the reason why i chose to use it as my daily driver is i was unhappy with the car i had been using and also wasnt happy with the fact that this car was just sitting in the garage not being used. so after several weeks of weighing the pros and cons i decided to sell my daily driver and bring this car out from its slumber.

+1.
Turbos are not comfortable at all. When I'm stuck in traffic, I want a/c, tunes and no road noise. Therefore, the Turbo stays in the garage until it's time to play.

Agreed to above. I have my 997S for the daily grind in some of the worst D.C. traffic. The clutch is light, and I can ride it all day with the AC on full.

I save my 964 Turbo for the times when I want to enjoy the act of driving.

Driving around isn't a problem, it's having to park it somewhere unattended. Not the best feeling to come out and find a door dent or worse, some jealous SOB who keys your pride and joy.

My car was a daily driver for 7yrs before I bought it. All motorway cruising, which I guess is fine. I wouldn't want to do stop/start traffic in it. I wish my job involved a 1hr motorway commute, so that I would have an excuse to drive it daily. You only live once, its only a car. Enjoy it.

Daily driven for 12 years: from 45k miles to 255k miles: extremly reliable. Now that time has caught up I have a few things to fix.

Overall, the exotic feel & look of this car is worth the occasional discomfort from driving in town.
