After incredible soul searching, it's over
the 993TT is a great car!!! Holy cow, drove a nice one today and it's perfect, if you want a car you can drive anywhere and be comfy.
But after all the dust settled, I will soon have a gorgeous, all original 3.6T in the garage. Pics will follow, I promise
It came down to what I wanted to feel when I drove it. The fact that 3000 993TT came to the US, but <300 3.6T made it wasn't hard to swallow either.
So far my supplier has been over-the-top good by me. Will give credit where due when the dealing is done.
I'm SOOOO STOKED!!!

Ok, guys, she's not in the Barn yet, but I don't think it will fall thru. So here are some glamor shots as she's being prepped. Those of you with first hand knowledge please feel free to discuss if you see something wrong... I don't, but what do I know...
If you have any knowledge of this car and wish to inform me, feel free to PM, thanks

Holy crap! The car looks like it's only got delivery miles on it. Please tell us it ain't so!
Congrats and don't be afraid to put on those miles the way the Porsche engineers had designed it for.

Edwin

Beautiful car Allegretto! Looks like new from the pics, definitely well taken care of. Sorry for my newbieness, but what year is it? I am guessing a 94 with a slight chance of a 93. Thanks
I have read some of your posts among others. I had thoughts about a 997 but I think I like the style of the 964 & 993 more. I like the interiors of the 997 more(more modern/luxury) My Brother said to try and get a 2011 Turbo s cause it does 0-60 in 2.9. I told him I'm getting older and I'm not out to race, you can only go so fast legally, plus the price is way beyond my budget.
I just want a fast fun car and these show the porsche style more. The fastest car I have ever owned is my 04 Audi A8L. not exactly fast but a nice family luxury car. I drive an 03 F350 dually as my edc, want something sportier and a little better on fuel. I have always wanted a porsche but could never really afford one till now and thats limited.
I want to make sure I make the right purchase for my first porsche, so I have been trying to learn and figure things out on the forum.
sorry to get off topic. Can't wait for more pics of your car! Congrats on your find

Welcome to the "Hunt"
Yes, the interior of the new ones are more luxurious. But other cars are even better. No doubt a 997TT is faster, but I'm not going to be racing. The truly "mechanical" aspect of the 964/993's is sooo compelling.
In 997's alone I've had 2 Cabs, 2 GT3's, an RS, a TT and a GTS. I don't wish to ffend anyone that likes theirs, but a TT is a very fast toaster. The 991's will be very fast waffle irons. I'm done with that...

congrats on the new car the 94 3.6 is really special. regarding the comments about the 997 tt being a toaster I understand what you are saying and agree at times the new cars feel too good and boring and lack character the grass is always greener on the other side. when I own the old ones I want the new ones, when I own the new ones I want the old cars with more character. they are all good cars just different....

I've had both, just like Hermann. The new cars simply don't have a soul, fast as ****, but no soul.
The new ones are essentially disposable, easily replicated and mass produced. Hence, a toaster.
